does anyone have experience or knowledge of dot matrix printers. Is there any way of speeding up the printer, which font prints fastest or does it not matter is there some kind of lead i can buy to make it quicker ??

No lead will make it go any faster - you cant really adjust the speed of them. You could try simpler fonts, but the speed difference will be marginal at best. See, it prints by striking pins against a ribbon to make the letter. Either a pin hits or it doesnt.

Does it have a draft mode - this will speed up the printing and save ink but also reduce the quality of print.
