missing icons and links

when i click START the link to Help and Support and Search have disappeared.....also.....
Small launch icons beside the clock have diisappeared too. Printer,camera etc,etc.
Can you tell me how to get them back?

Has anyone been playng about with your Pc over Xmas, maybe a young child ? Anyway

On the word Start, right click and select Properties.

On the start Menu tab select Customize.

You should be on the "Customize Start Menu" window

If you click on the Advanced tab you can specify what you do, and dont want, to appear on the Start menu.

For the small icons on the lower right.

Right click on the blue Task Bar and choose Properties.

The "Task Bar and Start Menu Properties" window is displayed.

Choose the Task Bar tab then the Customize button.

There is a Behaviour column.

This can show either Always Show or Always Hide, or Hide When Inactive.

Mine shows Hide when Inactive.

Maybe yours show Always Hide.

Try pressing Restore Defaults.

or click on the text and change it to Always Show.

I hope that all makes sense
