How and where do i check if my windows firewall is on?

I'm using windows xp if that helps. thanks.

one point of note is that you shouldnt rely on it !
hackers target it.i recommend getting an independent free firewall such as zone alarm or sygate.

comodo firewall is pretty good and free too
