Photos on laptop
I have a laptop at home and have uploaded my photos on to it and enhanced some of them ie changed the contrast/brightness etc. On checking them (online) on my pc at work some are much darker than I thought. This is obviously due to the laptop screen being at the wrong angle originally. How should I position my laptop screen to show the true photo? Appologies if this sounds like a stupid question.

pros spend hundreds of pounds on monitors (generally CRTs) and colour analisers to ensure they get accurate matches
printing costs even more ... using ink colours (pantone standard) that are very finely mixed and always consistent
the best us amatures can do is
1 never work the originals ... only ever copies
(that way you can at least start again)
2 adjust for the screen they will be viewed on most
and accept that photo realistic ... is actually not that realistic.
Having said that ... the colours should be reasonably accurate .... just not 100%
ie red = red ... if red = green ... your monitor needt attention
