can anyone explain to me what duel layer is . i have a laptop with dual layer on it .

Dual-layer refers to a type of disc media that your laptop can handle. Specifically it means that the DVD drive in your laptop can write to dual-layer DVD discs. These discs hold 8.5GB compared to regular DVD discs which hold 4.7GB. A dual-layer disc simply has a second physical, writable layer within it, which is accessedd by the laser simply altering its focus verrrrry slightly.

Dual-layer come in the same two flavours as single-layer discs, i.e. in 'plus' and 'minus' standards. make sure you buy the right discs for your drive...although most modern drives that can write to dual-layer discs can also write to both formats.
