Show desktop disappeared

My sister`s show desktop icon has disappeared, could anyone explain how she can get it back please. ( The small icon at the bottom of the screen)

Your sister doesn't actually need the icon. To minimize all open windows (and thus show the desktop) simply press the 'Windows' key and 'D' simultaneously.
