I have a number of WMA music files on my hard drive, how do I convert them to MP3s and retain these MP3s on my hard drive?

The Pro version is the best and includes lifetime free upgrades, and it's got just about every editor's award there is.

for a straight conversion you could use
http://www.nch.com.au/switch/
you'll need the lame mp3 encoder for best results

it's free

Thanks so much for your answers.
rojash You give Easy CD-DA a good report, but seeing I only want to convert the few WMAs already on my hard drive, I think I will put this on the back burner until such times that I get into this in a more advanced way. Thanks all the same.
ACtheTROLL I think I will give switch a try, I dfo not need anything too technical just a few files to convert.
I tried your other link but this is unavailable, why will lame mp3 encoder give better results than switch? Thanks also.

Bear with me but I am a complete novice at this game, but I coudn't understand "switch comes with it's own files.... but recommends using lame lame".
I clicked on your new link, but could not find lame lame, but I could find it on this link, is it OK?

Just found out this is your original link, now found out why yours didn't work, it was missing er.htm (which was in black type) off the end.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaggggghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the oldest mistake in the book ...... sorry (I hate asp)
you got there though (despite me)
follow your link
having said that .... don't get too hung up on the lame thing .... see what you think of the results of switch as is.
It's a bit of a geeky thing is to use the lame encoder
the same site provides realtime and quicktime alternative also .... both of which are better than the originals (smaller - and less intrusive)
