Moving ITunes to external hard drive

I have about 18 GB of music in iTunes on my PC's hard drive, which is now full to capacity. (I also have an 80GB iPod.) Ideally what I would like to do is move iTunes from my computer's hard drive (C:) onto the external hard drive (F:) and operate iTunes solely out of the F drive in future. Is there any way this is possible??

If it isn't possible, and I have to leave a load of iTunes files on the C drive, will my iPod sync my music files from both drives?

Sure, it's easy.

1) Create a folder for your music to go on your external drive.

2) Open iTunes. Click edit->preferences, and go to the advanced tab. You can select the place for your iTunes library -- choose the folder in (1).

3) In iTunes, click Advanced -> consolidate library.
