Hi
I'm looking at buying my daughter a laptop. One of the companys I'm looking at sell an optional 'insurance' for a regular monthly fee. They call it 'PC performance' and it says the benefits are:
# Data Backup* free 1GB storage
# Data Recovery* worth 99.99
# Software telephone support (PC Laptop Only)
# Online training
# Onsite repair service for PC's - Courier Collection service for Laptops
# Unlimited Repairs
# Replacement product if cannot be fixed
# Breakdown due to Mishap (unless qualifies for instant replacement)
# Worldwide protection
# Annual healthcheck worth 49.99 (PC Laptop Only)

Is this worth getting, it sounds good but am I missing something?
Thanks

How much are they charging?

Data backup and recovery can easily be managed for no cost, except a few blank dvds or flash drive.

If she is familiar with a pc, she doesn't need software support or training.

The repair service should be included in the guarantee - free. Don't forget you have statutory rights.

Most serious faults occur within the first 3 months - so should be replaced under guarantee - free.

Breakdown due to mishap - my household insurance includes accidental damage to my laptop.

Annual healthcheck is unnecessary.

Ethel - thanks very much for the in-depth reply.
By breaking it down and explaining it to me like that I can see that we don't really need it.

Thanks again x
