My pc has a NEC DVDRW burner, AD-7170S model, SATA unit, and a TSST corp DVD +-RW, TSH653A model.
Both are supposed to be compatible with plus and minus disks, running a scan on Nero shows that they're compatible with both, and the pc tells me that I need to use dvd+r or dvd-r (or the RW versions). It tells me this every time it spits out a minus disc as 'unwriteable' - it just will not recognise minus discs.
Hi AC - thanks. Yes, they burn + perfectly well, and will play any format.
When it rejacts the dics it states that the disc is not writeable, and I've tried three brands at different speeds.
I'm using dvd-shrink and nero, could that affect it?
Also, when i put in a disc without a prog running it shows it as a blank disc.
Thanks AC. I've just about discounted the idea of faulty drives - there are two in there and neither work, and one is a replacement for one that also didn't take minus dvds.
I use Nero a lot, - looks like I'll just stick with plus!
