W.XP.SP3 Download.

Can anyone tell me when W.XP. SP3 will be available?
I read it was out on 29th April and as I have automatic update, how will I know it has been downloaded or not?

Under the 'general' tab it tells me my window is service pack 2

Microsoft have decided to delay XP SP3.

After more testing they found it caused problems with one of their other software products.

They are working on a bypass so you will just have to wait

btw If you are desperate for XP SP3 there are places you can download it.

But until Microsoft fix this bug you are probably better waiting (just in case they decided to make changes to the SP3 code).

To be honest SP3 is no big deal. It just rounds up all the previously issued XP fixes, plus there are some small performance improvements.

There is almost no new function (none that would appeal to the average user anyway)

Thanks to all for the relevant information, especially 'vehelpfulguy', I gather SP3 wont be ready for some time and as you say it probably wont be much use when it does appear.
