hi...is there any way I can find a log of when my pc is is switched on each time so that I can monitor how much it is used by other users? I use windows xp

you can use the event log.
goto control panel click administrive tools and then event viewer, once this has loaded click on system in the left pane and look for entries that say eventlog under the source heading in the right pane, if you double click any of these they will either say event log has started which is when your computer was switched on, or event log was stopped, which is your computer being switched off.
