System Restore - one other question please.
3 Answers
As you will have seen from my previous plea for help, I had to re-install all my programs after my PC crashed and 'Restore' would not work for some reason even before that.
When I re-installed all my programs I had to download and re-install Service Pack 2 and that told me that it had reset 'restore' amongst everything else and indeed it had removed all the highlighted dates until that time. That was a week ago and when I clicked on 'restore' today it showed a number of highlighted dates back until that time.
However, when I tried to restore back to a previous date (in bold) I was told it could not restore and this was the same for all the other dates.
What has gone wrong please? In the past i have found restore most helpful as a novice.
Thanks again

but presumably it was a similar question about restore.
why oh why oh why are you using restore so often?
it's set to take a percentage of your disk ... so it depends what you do as to how many points you get - and honestly it never does much anyhow
basically it's supposed to be used when everything is turning to dust - unless you are a mummy (not in a good way) why are uou constantly living on the edge? - are you a stunt surfer or something?

I'd also add that I, as a matter of course, advise people to turn off system restore. Not only does it use up Disk Space, when/if you get a virus and delete it, using System restore will just restore the virus as well. It doesn't take too long to re-install Windows if everything goes VERY pear-shaped, but if you're careful this won't happen.
