I have had a look but can't find anything so far.

Does anyone know of any truly free trojan removers.

I found one which was useless, and I have found others which do a "free" scan but you have to pay for the program.

Don't waste your time with products that offer to remove trojans etc from your PC often as a pop up aka sacreware

Most antivirus programs will remove trojans - so will many anti spyware programs

I recommend Avast Anti virus along with Spybot S&D, A squared, and even Windows defender - all free. Use in conjunction with a secure browser like Mozilla Firefox and a decent firewall like Comodo Firewall Pro (still free) and you're a way down the road to making and keeping your PC clean

I have AVG (paid), ad aware, spybot and none of them can get rid. I only know it's there because AVG picked it up.

Apparently, it is not a major Trojan, just annoying that each time I boot up, I get the message that it exists.
What exactly does the message say?
Start your machine in safe mode and run a full scan with AVG , Spybot etc, maybe the offending file is locked when trying to delete it.

Word of caution I have had a number of occasions when Spybot has been attacked by a nasty and does not run correctly.... deleting it`s install directory and reinstalling normally resolves the issue.

I can't start in safe mode as I have a wireless keyboard. As for the message, it is simply a warning thown up by one of the other programs to say it exists every time I boot up. Not booted up since this morning, but it says "small" something or other.
Could be that infection has already been healed and just needs the vault inAVG to be emptied. I would suggest you get yourse;g a cheap usb or ps2 keyboard just in case your wireless device starts playing up or if you need to get into safe mode to rectify any issues
While trying to sort out an annoying virus I recently picked up, I came across this page from Castle Cops.

Between all the downloading & scanning it took about a day to sort out my laptop but the result was excellent. In addition to sorting the virus I now have a much faster machine.
