Wide screen

Hi....I have a Compaq Presario PC which is some 3 years old but still more than capable of doing the jobs I need....

Thing is: the monitor needs replacing. Would a wide screen one do the job or would my computer not be able to display correctly being 1024x768 format now.

This will depend on your video adaptor - there were many different models of Presario with very different specs.
Right-click the desktop, choose properties.
On the setting tab check out the resolution. Does it offer greater resolutions that 1024X768?

Hi Rojash...it's not very modern: Ati Radeon 900, and offers 1280x1024 maximum resolution....what do you reckon?

I reckon you could run a 19" widescreen monitor at 1440 x 900
