Hard drive help!!

I have a external hard drive connected to router which i can web browse via the ip address to set it up so i know everything is connected fine and the ip is in correct range but i cannot ping it in cmd= ipconfig/all tried to map network but doesn't see it any suggestions would be great ps..i have folders on this hard drive and used before, and hard drive has same configurations but just can't see it on network any more

Anyhoo....

Open my computer and in the address bar type..

\\192.168.1.100

Obviously change the IP address to the correct one for your drive, and see what happens

(oh and it's not that unusual for devices to not respond to a ping)
