Should You Turn Off Computer at Night?
I'm getting conflicting advice over this. Some say yes, saving electricity/wear & tear on hard drive/monitor etc. Some say no, as it takes more out of the system each time it boots up, and may even induce errors doing so.
Advice please!

It won't shorten the lifespan of your machine. The only thing that would do this (excluding natural errors that all hardware will face), is continual warming and cooling of the components, associated with continually powering on and off your PC.

some computer components are designed to run 24/7, but thats all dependant on which bran it is. if the PC is bought from a place such as PCWorld, then theres a high chance it wasnt designed to be powered on all the time.
every component within a computer has a life span, and if you leave it running all the time then you are reducing it.
however, if the computer does go into hibernation and all components do switch off in the power options then this will save on wear.
hard disks are the ones you want to preserve the life of since they spin rather fast, and if you leave them spinning all the time you will be wearing out the motor.

When you start your car in the morning, the stresses on the battery, gearbox and engine are orders of magnitude greater than those experienced by your computer on start up, and your car doesn't start running efficiently for at least 5 -10 minutes after. Have you considered leaving your car on 24/7 ?
Turning off the computer at night won't induce errors I can guarantee you that. You may even damage some components if won't turn off your computer regularly. For example PC cooler can reach maximum heat and brake. I personally turn off my computer every night for years and it still works normal. Save electricity guys :)
hi i thing you are facing a problem that does not have any sense to the error because error comes out from the hard ware problem problem so that there is some problem in your hardware so you need to fix this problem, and you can start the computer at any time and in off the computer at night it saves your electricity bill and safe your computer so that in the whole night the processor of the computer will cool down and your computer will run more time.
