Any recommendations for a general purpose printer for home use ? Mainly for Word documents, a few photos occasionally etc. I've got an Epson Stylus Photo R300 at the moment and have no complaints about quality etc so far. I understand cheaper printers can be expensive to run, with high costs per page of printing and cartridges, whereas more expensive jobs are cheaper per page and to run.

I was recommended to go for one of the Brother range. What you go for in the 60-100 range ?

apologies derekpara I should have mentioned the price of inks yesterday. I pay 30 a set of 5 good quality remanufactured inks for pixma IP5300 but you can probably get them cheaper
