Picasa and Canon printer

I have just bought a new printer (Canon Pixma mp630 ) which I am very happy with, I now find that I have trouble opening Picasa, Is there a conflict or is it just Picasa?
If I re install Picasa will I lose all the stored photo's?
I am using Picasa 3.

During the installation process it will ask you remove the photo database or not? You can keep your photo database. To uninstall picasa follow this link : http://picasa.google.com/support/bin/answer.py ?hl=en&answer=11274
