cant watch youtube,tried adobe flash player,turned on java script as instructed.still no joy.can i download some other flash player.im on windows vista i dont know if that matters

Is this from a work's PC? They may have blocked the site (or part of it).

vhg tried that,it tells me it is installed,when i go back to watch vids im told again to download flash player,and turn on J S.thanks anyway....................................................................squb,its not a work computer,its my own

Note there is Java and Java Script AND THEY ARE NOT THE SAME THING.

I dont think you need Java to watch videos.

In IE JavaScript is known as "Active Script" so make sure you have Active Script turned on.

Stop and restart you browser, also try to clear out all your temporary interent files.

did all that vhg,active scripting was enabled.still got me nowhere,im giving up now,thanks again for all your help
I have had exactly the same problem, and I too am on Vista. I even got a pop-up box yesterday telling me a update was available for my Abode Flash Player, so I clicked on it and nothing happened.
i gave up trying to download Abode Flash Player, yet I have no difficulty watching YouTube clips, so I don't know what the answer is.
I had similar experience few days ago and this is what I did to solve the problem (Windows XP).

You need to uninstall the old version of Flash Player using "Add/Remove Programmes" from Control Panel. Once you uninstalled the old version, download the new version of Flash Player from Adobe website.

I had the same problem - tore my hair out until I found a solution - it was flash player 10 - so I downgraded to flash player 9 and hey presto all is well again - and before anyone says i
I know about the possbility of security implications but some websites were unusable
