Limewire

Help please.
Limewire will not start/connect.
I haven't used it for ages and all I get now is "starting connection" but it never does.
Does anyone know what I should do. Many thanks

Possibly give up illegally downloading copyright files?

Or, more practically, uninstall Limewire, then reinstall it. Also make sure that there are a good range of files in your 'shared' folder, so that others can download them. (Remember though, that making files available for other people to download, rather than just downloading files yourself, is what changes a purely civil offence to a criminal one as well).

If you haven't used it for a long time it may be obsolete so you may need to download the new version. Click on the "download new version" bit at the bottom of the screen. the Pro should be free if you do it this way otherwise going through the website may cost you.

if you use it for downloaded copyrighted music , i would suggest you stop it right now.

I agree with everything Chris says, and tiggs advice is good to.

as an add to both of them I would say use frostwire instead, it's written by the same people (the people that wrote it took offense to the pro (pay for it) version so quit and wrote a proper free version of it)

Well we need to point out that using Limewire IN ITSELF is not illegal.

I have no recording contract with anyone, and If I recorded an album, and made it available via Limewire, it would be perfectly legal for anyone to download it.

However, if someone downloaded say Take That's new album, that would indeed be illegal.

Hang on, if somebody downloaded Take Thats' album doesn't that preclude them from criminal intent on mental grounds?

Check about Firewall setting.
May be some security software bracing the connection.

when you download the lime ware from the internet select the lateset version and free version so that you do not paid for it.

if you do not download the free version than you have to pay for buying the lime ware.

check the firewall settings and set it as a default.

restart the computer.
