As I haven't got the original software for the above prog,is it possible to burn it to CD and re-install it onto Vesta?Perhaps not this one but would the theory stand up for some other XP prog.to Vesta?Bearing in mind that the new CD would have no install instructions on it!

Microsoft is a company not a program, so your question doesn't really make sense.
However, if you mean, can you copy a program from one computer to another simply by burning the program files to a CD or DVD, the answer is no - you need the installer (with one or two minor exceptions).
By the way, I assume that you mean Vista rather than Vesta.

Well spotted rojash. The last couple of e-mails that I have sent have come up with minor "misprints" even though I have checked them beforehand. It should have read Microsoft "picture it" Your assumption is correct that was what I was aiming to do.It looks as though I'll have to give up on it,I was so hoping to get the prog back.Might have to buy a cheap PC(only joking)
I just had a look at eBay prices - 30 for a fairly old piece of software!!!

It apparently runs on Vista (in Administrator Mode) if you fancy spending out. If not, Paint.Net is free and fairly easy to use if the photo editing part of the prog is what you were wanting.

Thanks for the tip LeM.I'll check that out!

ps LeM can you give me some idea when and where you saw the ad I've been through it without any success? Thanks
If you put "picture it" into the search box on eBay and then narrow it down by clicking on COMPUTING>software (just click "software") it takes you to a page with a few on. Here's one to get you started: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIte m&item=190296923368

(Please note, this is not an endorsement - just the most likely looking one).

Mind you, I notice that some folk are asking over 100 lower down the page!!!

Thanks again LeM,i've had a look and if I can find someone on Vista who has used it I'll buy one.
