THis is probably a very simple question but I don't know the answer!!!

Som,ebody has been messing with the settings on my PC and now if I do a Google search and then click on one of the links, it opens in a new tab whereas before it just changed the page on that tab.

How can I change the settings so it doesn't open in a new tab everytime? I'm using Firefox btw.

When you are on the Google home page there is an option just after the search field offering "preferences" (not difficult to find!!).

Click that and you get a whole page of options.

One of them is "Open search results in a new browser window".

Deselect it.
Look in tools->options->tabs

Cheers VHG... I was looking under the Tools menu on the toolbar and couldn't find it... never thought it would be a setting in Google itself!!!
