slow computer
My computer is very slow when i first log on but works ok later. i have both Ad-aware & Avg 8.5 running at log on might this be the problem or has anyone any other idea's?

especially if they also scan on startup
along with all the other "helpful" progs that do the same
Start | run and enter msconfig (ok)
you'll find a list of progs and services that startup
DON'T go mad - you can end up with a machine that doesn't work.
progs like avg need to run in the background to give protection
but fred's file transfer prog or tom tom or mobile phone auto detect ringtone volume adjuster
... well you get the idea - occasionally handy - but generally only used twice a year
if your'e sensible - one prog at a time - reboot - make sure all OK .... choose another
if you don't recognise it - leave it alone
(google is a useful tool - but don't believe everything you read - use more than one link)
