Adobe AIR

I had trouble with BBC iplayer desktop so I removed the program & Adobe AIR to reload but I now I am having trouble trying to reload Adobe AIR,it still shows on the Control panel[Add & Remove} so the Adobe AIR download tells me that is already loaded.
So now I am in the position where I can,t remove or replace Adobe AIR.
Can anyone solve this please.?
