How to transfer all my ipod music to my new laptop

I recently had my pc stolen along with all my music. However, i do still have an ipod with all my music stored on it. I have tried to plug in my ipod to my new laptop, but it says that it's not authorised for this pc. I believe there must be a way to transfer my music on to my laptop but not sure how. I have Itnes installed on the laptop. Any advice would be welcome!
