Lappy power supply

I have a bit of an old lappy but it's good and it works well, that is unless the wire comes out at the back.
for some reason the power supply lead keeps falling out and as the battery is knackered so I can't have it in the laptop.
My question is. is there a way of fixing the problem? I have got a new power supply but none of the plugs stay in well. I only have to jog it sometimes and it falls out. It's getting a bit annoying.
If any one has any ideas how to solve this problem I would be grateful.
