norton internet security

hi all happy new year
just popped to smiths and bought norton internet security for 2010. i am trying to unistall the shield security system and have a problem.
the system starts to uninstall but stops "erroe 1921 verify that you have enough privileges to stop system services"
what does this mean and how can i overcome it ?

Ummmm What do you know about it? Nothing.

You need to be logged in as administrator ...
Best to uninstall old Norton thoroughly ... Download their removal tool from their site to finish the job cleanly.

I had trouble de-installing my old Norton........I rang them up and one of their operatives did it remotely for me.
