My BF has saved his emails on a memory stick - he's saved them as .pst (which I think is the format specified by outlook).

Now we are trying to read them, neither of us can since we only have Windows Mail.

Any suggestions on how to read these emails, please? Or do we have to buy Outlook?!

You could see if Windows Mail has an import feature but yes, .pst files are really designed for outlook.

the only way I know how to do it would be download the free trial of office (so you get outlook) open the pst file in outlook while it is running as trial and then use the export function in outlook to export them in outlook express format (or windows mail if outlook 2007 will do it, either will work) you can then import the mails into windows mail using the outlook express format you've just exported.

There is no direct way to do it.

Fraid not Zac, to open .pst files in the link you provided you still need outlook installed as it uses the outlook libraries to read the .pst file.
