how can i install my scanner

i tried to install my flatbed scanner on my new laptop windows 7 and i cant it was ok on my last pc.It installs but when i try to run it it says is everything connected etc and it is.And people have suggested getting a driver and thye havent really explained how to do this and the company dont know what they mean and they dont have one on there website please help
