laptop connection gone

Can somebody tell me what I have done please ? My laptop will not connect to the internet - I get a message "no connections available".Everything was ok until I plugged some headphones in - could that be the cause ?

Is there a wireless network switch near the headphone socket that you've knocked off by mistake?

I had that problem. 2 days without the internet before someone pointed out that the wireless was off....
