I don't know what edition of Internet Explorer I have on this laptop. How can I find ou t please

Run it and from the HELP menu select ABOUT INTERNET EXPLORER. That tells you exactly what release it is.

This is true of almost all programs. Select Help and there will be an option called "About" or similar.
