Hi, I'm being offered a Compaq Presario CQ61-425EA Celeron 900 2.2 GHz 2GB 160GB Windows 7 Home Premium for £317.25.
Does anyone know if this is (a) a decent laptop and (b) a good price.

Thanks.

Is it this one?:

Seems pretty new so not many reviews. One read:
Good points:
Excellent build quality, not too heavy considering it's size. Very fast and simple to use. Great value for money.

Bad Points:
It is slightly big to have sat on your lap, but if you're using it on a desk it's excellent! Doesn't come with backup/recovery discs, although this is standard for all laptops now.

That's the one Count............I got an email from BT trying to flog me one, and the Toshiba is creaking a bit.....
It's not too bad.

the celeron is a budget processor but will be fast enough for most peoples uses.

2GB of ram is adequate

160GB hard drive is slightly small by todays standards, but again it's enough for most peoples use.

The price is about the going rate for that model so although it's not a great deal it's also not overpriced.

Compaq are part of HP now and you won't get a lot better after sales support than HP give.

All in all, it's a average spec laptop that will be fine for most peoples use at a price that is not over the top.

I'm guessing it won't be as good as my Toshiba Satellite which was quite expensive then....
What's the model of the toshiba?

Sorry about that whilst looking for the model I managed to unplug the router. No that's my graphics card isn't it.........I've no idea of the model but it cost me about 1200.00 6 years ago.
I've got a Compaq Presario CQ60. Had it 18 months and love it, Simple to use but then it has to be for me to manage it.

Sounds an excellant price too.
