Also empty your recycle bin if you have a lot of files in there.
If you have an external hard drive then move some personal files from your computer to this external hard dirve.
If you DONT have an external hard drive then it may be a good time to buy one.

Go to Tools(top left)
Click on Delete Browsing History
then
on
Temporary Internet Files
Click on
Delete Files
This should speed up XP even if it doesn'r clear it completely.
You might also need a "Defragmenter" programme.
Between your stored files you have areas of empty space that are taking up room that could be used by files,a defrag removes these and compresses the files you do need, thus giving you extra space.

Just remembered:
AsVHG says in Windows XP there is Disc Cleanup(to get rid of old files etc)
and Disc Defragmenter(to compress unused space).
To access these:
Go to
Start
All Programmes
Accessories
System Tools
and there you will see the Disc Clean Up and Disc Defragmenter programmes.
It will ask you what drives you want to clean/defragment,I would clean/defrag boith.
Be patient if you haven't done this before(and I assume you haven't) it may take a while.
