Got a virus - please help
5 Answers
Just logged on quickly at work so sorry if I don't respond any time soon. Major problem at home with 2 laptops knocked out at same time:
2 laptops, Windows 7 and Vista, both IE, both share same wireless router
Both have paid for Avast
Yesterday at same time both went mad with Avast showing warnings (and lots of other warnings coming up) but a full system scan by Avast says all OK.
Result is no files or internet is accessible and the home page on mine (Win7) has a blue background with red and white writing saying : you have been infected with spyware...this could break you, your boss, your wife..etc etc etc"
Does anybody recognise this virus and can anyone help. I don't know what to do

First of all, dont panic......Chuck or someone with good IT skills will be able to hopefully answer you and recognise the virus.
I've posted a link to it and how to maybe get rid of it, but my advice is too hold fire and wait for someone in IT to tell you properly what to do, as this sounds like a virus that the usual precautions and removal may proove to be a bit more complicated.

Many thanks for your advice. I'm OK now after a system restore and other stuff like your links all carried out by my helpful work IT man. Looking at other posts I'm not alone, I got the 'System Tool' window come up.Just a couple of points - my paid for Avast did not stop it so that's concerning and secondly yes I shouldn't have been searching for pictures of yogi's lumpy bits:-)Thanks for answering.
