when I use internet explorer, it keeps telling me I need to install it. But it IS installed, as it works fine when I use Chrome as a browser. I've tried re-setting the default settings to no avail - anybody any ideas - apart from just using chrome all the time?

You need to download it for Internet explorer. Sounds like you've only downloaded it for Chrome

no square - it was working fine up until a week ago - and at first happened i did download it again and again - i can't keep doing it, especially as it works on the OH's side of the computer (we both have passwords and separate homepages etc, works fine for them on explorer.)
Go to the Adobe website and download the uninstaller and run it. Then download the version you need for your browser that you use as you say you use Chrome but at times you might use IE then download it for it as well as squarebear has said.
