Hi all, just a quickie...

When you send someone a message on Facebook, does it allow that person to view your full profile?
I don't really know how to test this, as I need to be 100% sure.

Thanks :)

Not if you have your privacy settings right.
If only there was someone on this site who knew all about what it is and isn't possible to infiltrate on Facebook.......

I have had a look through the settings, but can't seem to find anything relating to this.
My privacy settings are set up so that only friends can view my profile. Do you know if this would stop the above happening? Thanks.
Ask Mark.
Question Author
Well lets hope there is!
I personally would not risk it, it is my opinion that anything you put on F/B can be instantly read in Outer Mongolia or anywhere else as soon as you enter submit.

Ron.
Don't do what I did this morning - I sent a message to someone in reply to a previous message. I then cut and pasted the reply to some other people, not realising that the previous messages were also visible to them......

I'm not sure who that is, but hopefully someone on here will be able to advise me on my question. Thanks.
Whiskeyron, it's too late... I've already sent it : /
lankeela, oh dear! :(
Old-Geezer, Ha ha ha!

Basically, I was sent a friend request from someone who I know of, but do not know. I have no intention of accepting the request, but just wondered if I sent them a message, would they have access to my profile anyway?
Only the people you select can see what's on your wall. No one can see your private messages unless they have access to your account.

Or, unless they can hack accounts. Like I said, ask Mark.

Well, that's the other problem. When I first saw it, I blocked him straight away. Then, after it had played on my mind for a while, I took him off my blocked list and sent him a message. I now can't block him for 48 hours, so I'm left wondeirng if my profile and pictures are all left open to view.
Question Author
Pixi, yeah I remember that message, and it definitely did not come up with that this time.
I'm not going to ask him. He's a cock and he'll just say he can see it all, even if he can't.
Naz says 'yes it is'
Question Author
Right, it's ok. I've tested it out. I had to set up a new account, send a message to the new account (from my existing account) and then see if I could see my own account... from the new account. I couldn't, it was completely private.
Thanks to all who answered :)
Question Author
Oh sorry. I didn't see your answer before I started to type.
Maybe you could pass on a message to your friend 'Naz', and let him know that this isn't the case. I would hate to think, they too, were worried about Facebook security in this way.

Once again, thanks to all who answered. Goodbye.
Looooooooooooooooooool. I passed the message on...pmsl
So someone called Mark?? can hack Facebook accounts, interesting.
I've been on FaceBook for quite some time now,and I recently set my settings to ALL things private, by clicking on the custom settings link.
Once you have finished with your settings you can then preview the look of your profile from a friends view perspective of it.
I once had everything set on Private one time, and I was really amazed to see that not a single bit of information on my Profile could be seen on my preview.
It's great when you know how to do these things!! :)
