Ebay/paypal Problem

I've been trying since yesterday evening to pay for an item I won on ebay. I keep getting a payment pending message which is eventually followed up with an email from ebay to say that they are unable to process the transaction. There's no problems with funds my end. I'm not new to ebay and neither is the person I am buying from. This morning I sponsored someone via paypal and received a confirmation from paypal that this had gone through so it doesn't seem that there's a problem with them. I have emailed the seller to explain the problem (so that they hopefully don't get fed up), and I have emailed ebay to ask for an explanation.

Has anyone else ever had this experience? And if so, what did you have to do to resolve it? I'm finding it extremely irritating.

There was a siilar post other day, and one question by Chris (I think) was have they received a new up to date bank card recently and not changed their details with Ebay/Paypal?

Have you tried calling paypal about this. When I had to ring them once I found them very helpful

i had this recently and the person i was sending money to could only accept so many payments in one day - that might be it, if its working elsewhere

Ok, I'll hae to look for that post. But there's been no change to the account, and the card doesn't expire til next year so nothing like that.

I tried calling paypal last night and actually found them less than helpful once I got past their hideous automated system, and then I lost signal and I just had no interest in speaking to the unhelpful person again.

I hope that's it fluffy, I've not heard back from the seller at all yet. I wouldn't mind but I've been using ebay and paypal for years and I have never had any problems at all so I'm confuzzled as to why now!

I hardly ever use ebay or Paypal but I bought a couple of things and paid by paypal on sunday. The first one was on a private website and I paid by paypal. The transaction was processed and I received a reference number. The second one (later the same day) was on ebay and I just had a screen saying that payment was being processed. That`s as far as it got. I presumed it was a problem at their end (the payments come direct from my bank, not a credit card). On ebay it said that if the payment didn`t get through, it would be listed under "awaiting payment" on "my account". I didn`t see any sign of it and when I looked at my bank account today, both payments had gone through.

The payments are not going through at all 237SJ though, I get the messages from ebay and then go back in and still have to pay for 1 item. The card I use is also my debit card so directly from my bank account. When I spoke to paypal last night the woman was useless.

B00bies - do you know what topic that thread you saw was under? I'm just wondering if perhaps it's in techonology of finance... I wasn't actually too sure where to put my question so think I may have stuck it in a silly place :-/

from what i remember there were a group of us all paying a payment and it rejected as they could only accept 5 in one day

Yeah looks like it, that's the way she prefers to be paid. I am at a loss.
