Paypal Email Should I Be Suspicious?

I've had an email from paypal, with my full name on it. It says there has been suspicious account activity on my account and to go check it. When I go on and sign in its blocked my account, is asking for my full credit card number and then to change my password -all this before I can check the 'suspicious' activity on the account. Should i be suspicious or is this normal?

I use Paypal and it's good to know that you were able to sort things out quite quickly on the telephone. E/mails are always open to doubt, even although Paypal say.....//Spoof or ‘phishing’ emails tend to have generic greetings such as "Dear PayPal member". Emails from PayPal will always address you by your first and last name.//

If PayPal email you they will address it with your name and no other way .If it is not addressed this way then it is a scam

Fine so long as everyone is aware that it is very easy to make an email link appear to be a valid link while underneath it will actually link somewhere else entirely.

Agreed beso but we'd already covered that earlier- see my post which said "If you have definitely signed into the official paypal site (and not just clicked on a link in a phishing email) then it would seem genuine to me"
