Local Radio Over The Net

I don't even know if this is allowed or not but, is there a way to record a radio programme steamed over the Internet for later listening ?

Honestly I don't know how she gets me into all this. My woman is driving down to my place later today to stay for a couple of days for the bank holiday. I get a call last night, Radio Bristol is doing some kind of Trevor Fry celebration Monday and since she will be at mine, can she hear it at my place ? Well I'm not going to get it over the airwaves here. I checked and confirmed she should be able to as they stream the live programmes via the Net.

I expect that to be good news and the job sorted; but no. In the very next sentence, "Oh so you can record it for me then."

Arrhhhh ! "But I thought you were wanting to listen to it here ?" "But that would tie us what we do during the day !"

Ok... to save me spending forever trying to work out how it is done, anyone know how ?

Ah may have come here to ask first in error. Seems one can get apps that do it, and I understand Audacity can be set up to do it. Have used that in the past so may try that route.

If it's BBC Raidio Bristol, the program should be available on iPlayer for 7 days

30 years is about right, but as neither of us "believe" in marriage it's more a non-engagement period.

If iPlayer does radio, it may be the way to go.

The Audacity test failed miserably, "Error while opening sound device, please check input device settings and the project sample rate". Heck ! I can hear it playing on the speaker, all it had to do was save it to a file, for crying out loud.

I did find their "listen again" function before starting the thread, but nowhere can I see where they guarantee they will have available the future programme one is interested in; so I really need something I "know" should work. Gee, so much to so and I'm looking at this.

Thought I had something with Rarmaradio, but I can't find it having it's own timer. Seems to just want me to use task scheduler to start something. Can;t be having that. I know what will happen, it'll start up some application which then won't know it has to record. Failure waiting to happen.

For sure Wolf, those are the ones (as far as I know) but I'd be risking "it all goes to plan" and what is scheduled actually appearing somewhere to click on and play after the event.

iTunes eh. Apple Macintosh stuff. Not had any dealing with them. Surely they don't store BBC radio stuff for free ?

True. The weather meant we stayed local so it was less of a bind to get back anyway. Blooming bank holiday weather.
