Hm, I was glancing through my add-ons today and was surprised to see that my Avast Online Security had a warning against it.
It reads: Avast Online Security could not be verified for use in Firefox. Proceed with caution.
Now I have tried other anti virus programmes but Avast is the one I prefer.
Is there something wrong here or is this a normal 'Firefox/Avast' thing?

Maybe Avast & Firefox need to talk to each other about verification. You have the latest versions of both ?

Yes they are both up to date.
Well if you are sure they are both genuine, proceed with caution and not worry about it too much. If there is a compatibility clash I suspect it'll become obvious. I'm sure they'll sort it out between them at some point.

Yes, thanks O_G. They are both genuine and I'm having no problems with either. It was just a trifle disturbing to see two respected companies disagreeing so to speak.
At present there is something of a problem between Avast and Firefox.

Avast is working on correcting matters before Firefox 41 is released for general use, during the week beginning 22nd September.

Hans.
