Lilly Allen accuses black cab driver of refusing to take her fare, telling her to find an immigrant to drive you, you stupid tart.
It was pointed out that this was supposed to have happened 15 minutes after Uber had lost the court case. Allen has previously shared Uber promos with her twitter followers.
Steve McNamara, of the Licensed Taxi Drivers Association refutes the claim saying he has no doubt it did not happen.

If I was refused admission to a taxi, and called a tart, the first thing I would do would be to make a note of the reg plate, then complain to the taxi company (or licensing authority).
Maybe because she has had such a priviledged upbringing, she did neither, but instead went on twitter.

A taxi driver at a rank would not willingly refuse a fare, and hand it to one of his rivals. Taxi drivers accept fares from people they don't like, all the time, if they were picky, they would starve.

And if you refuse to take a fare, you have to have a good excuse, or you can have your taxi licence refused on renewal.

I've had taxi drivers refuse to take me somewhere if it wasn't worth the loss of his place in the taxi rank queue, in New York and London.

I also assumed the black cab driver in the OP meant that he was black. Oops.

Yes me too going south of the river to Peckham and in NY trying to get to work in Brooklyn. I expect that is the same for most cities if they think they cannot get a return fare, but tht is not the same as for a personal reason.

You have to tell them you want to go to the airport, then they'll be jumping to get you in their car. I wouldn't actually do that, but I've been with a man who has. I hid my face in shame.
