Blocking Emails

My laptop has to go away for repair. I`ve no wish for my emails to be available for viewing while away. Is there any way of temporarily stopping them from being accessed?
Many thanks.

(If you've not stored the password, you won't have a problem anyway). If you need instructions, please tell us which browser you're using.
If you access your email through a dedicated app though, such as the Windows 10 Mail app or Thunderbird, things could be a little trickier.
One technique that would work for both webmail or app access though is to create a separate Windows account on your laptop. Then password protect your original account, so that the technician can only access your laptop through the new account.

Thanks everyone for your help. The reason for the need to repair was a malfunction every time the PC uploaded automatic updates. As suggested by Buenchico, I decided to try my luck with a PC system re-set, which has now been successfully(?) completed. All I`m waiting for now is the next auto updates, to test the water. I`ll duly report anon. 711.
