Hi, This Is A Follow Up To My Post On 1St Feb Concerning Wi Fi Range Extenders.
I asked if I could get a better signal by replacing my existing range extender and got some very good answers. The reason for asking the question was that my router is upstairs in a small front bedroom, the range extender is at the bottom of the stairs. When using our EchoDot the other day, I shut our lounge door and the echo dot said that the wi fi signal had been lost - opened the door and it was fine !! If possible I would like to know, if by adding a further range extender in my lounge, would this work and would it improve matters ?? I have asked the Netgear community but have had no response. Thanks for looking folks.

As a final follow up to this , I had to call in a technician from Virgin Media as my Tivo TV box would not connect to the internet - my chromebook, my wife's tablet,an Echo Dot and my TV were all ok ! He came yesterday and after a lot of testing and going outside to the VM cabinet he discovered that the signal to me was fluctuating rather drastically. He put an attenuator ( at least I think that's what he called it !) between the incoming cable and the router and, hey presto, all is now fine. Once again, many thanks for your responses and for showing an interest.
