'He is a member of the House of Lords in the United Kingdom, sitting as a life peer for the Labour Party, and is described as one of only a few openly gay Muslim politicians in the world.'
Wikipedia.
With so many favours bestowed by him on Labour MPs, what does he want in return? Should we now expect that 'Islamophobia' will be entering the statute books ?

Of course his donations are in current news - you may not like to face the truth, but it has been all over the news for the last fortnight.
And why do put the word question in quotation marks ? are you implying that the OP isn't a question?
Put your specs on and read it again.
"I see your 'question' as at best rhetorical."
Why is it?
Lord Ali is not kitting out the Prime Minister and his wife with clothes and accessories and providing free accommodation for no reason. He clearly expects something in return.
Bearing in mind his sexuality and his religion, it is not an unreasonble question to ask and one which I am sure the PM may look at favourably from the person he is seemingly dependent on for the clothes he stands up in. Apparenly, with a salary of only £167k, he cannot afford to repay the cost of these items of apparel so he's somewhat beholden to his rich benefactor:
As you will see; I posted this question at 10:58 this morning and it was quickly and most mysteriously removed. I couldn't see how it offended any Site Rules and I believe it is an extremely important issue for Britain,
I'm pleased by its reinstating and am pleased to see that there is fairness & justice on AB after all. 🙂
naomi: following Atheist's post at 11:33 there is an 'answer removed', from then on there was no 'answer question' red box until NJ's post at 16:18.
Glitch ? Why did nobody post all day, particularly as it's a Sunday?
Back to my question; The Muslim brotherhood and their subsidiarys would love to have a special law against what they call Islamophobia. There are already enough laws against hate for all religions etc. Why should there be a special one for that religion alone?
Imagine if Zoroastrians say, demanded a Zoroaphobia law, not to mention the Christians.
DOUGLAS, for those Mods using a 'phone, it is very easy to touch the button showing "CLOSE THIS THREAD" without noticing when scrolling up and down on the screen.
It's on the right-hand side and right-handed folk tend to use that hand when scrolling.
I've suggested moving it to the other side or adding a confirmation step to the action to reduce the accidental closures but there's been no word on that happening.
All we can do is apologize and say it's not deliberate.
