I`ve just been outbid with 5 seconds to go...I was the winning bidder for 3 days yet some sneaky g!t pipped me again!
This has happened quite a few times now, anyone else get this or is it just me?

I must admit on Ebay I am a swooper... coz I hate it when people outbid me. There is a website you can use that will swoop in a bid on an item for you in the last few seconds but I can't remember what it's called. I will find out for you.

elvis it dont matter how long ur in front .its the last 5 seconds that count.as im sure you now know.by bidding too early you inflate the price.by clicking on watch this item you alert the seller to interest.do neither and swoop in near the final seconds.if you wanna win that is

i always enter my maximum bid. then if your outbid last thing, at least you know you wouldnt ave gone any higher anyway.......

most things come round again anyway

tell you what happened to me last night for the first time, a seller emailed me, saying she had misculclated the postage and wud i send another �3. cheeky i thought, but i sent it as i felt i had a bargin anyway.

Yep ~ get yourself some snipes. I use it most of the time nowadays if it's something I really want.

It also makes sure I choose a bid price and stick to it!

Elvis, its bloody infuriating, its happened to me a few times, now i sit there with my finger poised in the dying seconds! Its the only way to do it. and �7.00 for a WWE wrestling video is a proper rip off anyway! Was that a used one or what????Better luck next time!

Well now what you do is set up another account on eBay, when you find something you want you submit an outrageously high price!! so high that anybody beginning to bid will never have their bid is accepted as the winning bid and they would get put off very quickly. Now on your original account you place a very modest bid, with the last few seconds of the auction you withdraw your high bid, the item then goes to the next highest bidder, probably yours with your very modest bid!!

Easy!!

Never tried it and I wouldnt want it done to me, but I think it would work, you would probably get banned after you done it a few times!!

How can you 'withdraw' a bid, thought once you made the offer you had to honour it?
