When I try to search, with google, above the sites is a message saying 'x amount of results stored on computer'
there is a hide (which gets rid of them for one search) or an about, which tells you how to remove them altogether. when I click on this the following appears "Right-click the Desktop icon in your system tray and choose Preferences" etc.
Basically can someone please tell me what the hell "Desktop icon in your system tray" is
Thanks very much

Strange. What browser and version are you using? Have you installed a browser extension that provides some off-line searching mechanism? Are you using the standard google URL (www.google.co.uk)? Just wondering whether you are also searching your computer at the same time as searching the internet? As I type this I recall an application called Google Desktop, which I presume provides searching locally (i.e. your hard-drive). Are you using this?
