I saw a advert in a jobs magazine from Tesco, for a independent home mailer. When I went onto there website I found out you have to pay 50 (which they say is refundable) to join so that they can send you out the information packs and the first batch of letters. Has anyone heard of them or do you think it is just a scam?
You will send out the same letter you receive to 1000 people asking them all for 50. They then send out 1000 letters asking the same thing. and so on.
Its called the pyramid scam. Quite legal, but a genuine con.
They said they do it so they only get people that are serious about it to contacting them; as that's how much the information booklet and the letters that i need to send out are. I can see why thay would do it, but on the other hand it could just be somone trying to rip me off
If you want to find a job rebecca, why not register with an agency for temporary work, you will get a great variety of work, and that way you will also know whay type of work you really like.
rebecca, the only thing I can say is, Can you afford to lose the 50 ? if you can and you are happy to take a risk, then do it, but if you can't afford to lose that money, never send any, Please try an agency first, you could well get sent to an office doing reception work, you would soon pick it up, you sound very polite, so you would be halfway ok, for that job already, good luck in your job search.
The reason they ask for the 50 pounds is so that they don't send a joker 50 pounds worth of stuff only for it to be a hoax and the person never to bother mailing the stuff back.Once you prove you are hinest they will pay the money back.
I remember a scam like this where you send them 50 and for this they tell you to put a similar advert in the press and ask 50. Recycling on a grand scale!
