When trying to download the above I get halfway and the update stops. Can anyone please explain to me why this is happening? Thanks.

come connections stutter .... when surfing or d/l "normsl" sized files you won't notice

try using a download manager
Free Download Manager -is (believe it or not) free

and the resume option should let you get past any dropouts
