Could anyone help please? I have a Dell E520 with Intel Pentium D and use AOL (the computer is barely 12 months old) and I have started to get connection problems. When I click on the icon (2 screens) I get the diagram showing Home-Multiple Networks-Internet but between the Multiple Networks and Internet there is a Red Cross. I switch off and reboot and can then get online.
Can anybody suggest what might be happening, Thank you.

could do with a little more info on your setup?

However if you have a router do you switch it off when you turn off the computer? if so either don't, or turn that on a couple of minutes before the computer to give the router a chance to get it's stuff sorted before the computer tries to connect to it.

also you can probably save a reboot in above situation by right clicking on your 2 little screens icon and selecting repair from the menu

markysngc, thanks for your time. I am using a normal broadband modem through a DSL link by phoneline. I came up this evening and the bloody thing let me on straight away.
